In 2019, RBC Future Launch and Riipen launched a partnership with the goal of increasing access to high-impact work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities for Canadian post-secondary students Our shared mission: to help prepare learners, particularly those from underserved communities, for the Future of Work. By the end of 2022, the RBC-Riipen partnership has delivered over 27,000 online WIL experiences, to a wide diversity of learners and educational partners across Canada with the potential of delivering over 250,000 by 2026.

Financial/Managerial Accounting Projects
Students in the Business Administration Program (Accounting Option) with College of the North Atlantic are required to complete a six week nonpaid work term placement to qualify for graduation at the end of June 2021. This placement begins on May 10 and ends on July 18, 2021. The required placement will consist of approximately 150 to 180 hours to be completed over a six (6) week period. Securing a financial/managerial accounting related project will enable students to build upon their knowledge base and gain valuable experience related to their program of study.
Capstone Project - Business Management (Winter 2025)

This Fall, students enrolled in the Post Baccalaureate Program in Business Management at CBU will embark on a course that seamlessly blends academic theory with practical experience. Over the past 1.5 years, these students from diverse professional backgrounds have already completed courses in Marketing, Strategic Management, Accounting, Human Resources, and Finance, bringing a wealth of insights into this program. Throughout their studies, learners have honed critical skills, including critical thinking, real-time decision-making, strategic thinking, collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving, effective communication, project management, adaptability, and professional business acumen. The primary objective of this course is to offer a hands-on learning experience, enabling students to apply their knowledge to real-world business scenarios. By working on a project that tackles current business challenges, students will further develop their ability to think critically, make informed decisions, and collaborate effectively. This experiential approach is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, equipping students with the tools needed to thrive in the business world.
Innovative Software Solutions for Modern Challenges
This experience invites industry professionals to collaborate with learners from the TMU Computer Science program, who are well-versed in software engineering, data management, and cybersecurity. These learners are equipped with skills in programming languages such as Python, Java, and C++, and have a strong foundation in agile processes and human-computer interaction. By engaging with real-world projects, learners can apply their classroom knowledge to develop innovative software solutions, enhance cybersecurity measures, or optimize data systems, all within a networked environment.

My learners are equipped to tackle projects in machine learning and statistical learning, having gained proficiency in Python and R. They have engaged with several hands-on courses covering machine learning, statistical data analysis, SQL and database management, Tableau dashboard creation, data engineering, and big data. I am seeking internship projects that will help them apply their skills as part of their data science master’s program. Please note that learners will register for their internship between May and August 2025. If you wish to start working with them during this period, it would be ideal.
